On Your Mark, Get Set, BIKE!

Seattle Seahawk Michael Bennett is the king of the impromptu bike ride. Here at Pineapple Hospitality we’re known for our eye-catching yellow bikes (among a few other things). So when the opportunity arose to have Michael Bennett ride a Pineapple Cruiser, our dreams came true.

Michael takes the kids for a spin around the loop at Bellevue Downtown Park.

Last weekend we were delighted to bring our bikes and support to help Michael and his team kick off a big fundraising month for The Bennett Foundation. This charitable organization is planning to tackle childhood obesity through education, activity and nutrition.

With help from the our friends at Conover Insurance and a super connection with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Bellevue (BGCB), we all gathered together to talk about the problem and take some action! Namely, we invited the kids from BGCB to take a bike ride with Michael around Bellevue’s Downtown Park and learn about ways to stay healthy.

After some pointed discussion and very spirited team chants – including one about saying “NO!” to chicken nuggets (say it like you mean it!) – the kids were ready to meet the biking challenge with enthusiasm.

Some of the littlest riders had to peddle the hardest.

Fans may recall that Michael is a big biking fan from his impromptu ride following the Seahawks’ win against the Green Bay Packers in the 2014 NFC Championship. This past weekend was no different —once he hopped aboard his Pineapple Cruiser we could barely get him to STOP riding! But eventually Michael and some friends from the Seahawks (namely KJ Wright, Brandon Mebane and Russell Okung) took a seat, grabbed some water, and invited the kids — and their parents — up for autographs. He also treated us to some skilled karaoke! And as the afternoon wore down, we all gathered for a last couple of photos — a perfect end to a day in the park.

Meet Me in San Diego!

Sun, Fun and Pineapple Cupcakes

It's official: Pineapple Hospitality is headed to San Diego! In Summer 2015 we're opening a brand new hotel in one of the city's hottest neighborhoods.

So what can you expect there? All the usual Pineapple amenities, of course. Bikes, cupcakes, complimentary wifi, and ridiculously comfortable beds. The only difference is you won't find a yellow umbrella in your closet -- because who needs one in America's Finest City?

We'll be sharing more details in the next week, but until then, here are a few of many reasons San Diego is INCREDIBLE:

  • San Diego has over 70 miles of beaches and coastline
  • The average daily temperature is 70.5 degrees Fahrenheit.  Aaahhh.
  • The La Jolla Playhouse and The Old Globe theater have sent more shows to Broadway than any other city in America!
  • The Birch Aquarium is the largest oceanic museum in the States.
  • Each year over 200 cruise ships make port in San Diego Harbor.
  • There are over 3,700 animals waiting to say hello at the San Diego Zoo!
  • You can literally take a trolley to Mexico.
  • It's home to a burgeoning beer scene with over 80 craft breweries to sip at!
  • Little Italy is a big deal -- we're having gnocchi dreams already.
  • You can find a waterfront convention for everyone.

Have you ever been? Tell us your San Diego tips and suggestions below! We'll share 'em with future travelers on our social media channels.

New City, New Piece of the Pineapple!

We're not only getting a new hotel, but we're expanding to another city! Soon you can #StayPineapple in Seattle, Portland, San Francisco and ________...?

We'll be teasing the location on our social media channels this week, and making the big announcement on Friday, May 8. Clues will be added here as they're revealed.

We Care What Touches You

We believe our guests deserve a clean, cozy experience from head to toe and start to finish. And it shouldn't take a black light over your comforter to make you feel at ease in your hotel room.

So we're changing things up.

Introducing The Naked Experience

by Pineapple Hospitality

Here’s what you’ll notice the next time you stay with us:

  • Pineapple Bedding!

What’s Pineapple Bedding? We’ve taken a cue from our friends in Europe and given each bed two twin comforters, so everyone can snuggle into their own comfort. Plus, Pineapple Bedding is 100% fresh for each guest. If it touches your body, you can trust it has been laundered just for you.

  • Seriously comfortable Simmons mattresses

For mattress aficionados, we’re talking Simmons Beautyrest® Black Napa Plus (The Maxwell Hotel, Hotel FIVE, Hotel Rose and The Hotel California) or Simmons Felicity Pillow Top Recharge (University Inn and Watertown Hotel)

  • Big, fluffy bath towels

Technically they’re bath sheets, which is why they’re so big. We apologize in advance if you are disappointed in your bath towels when you get home.

  • Signature robes and slippers

It’s your room, Friend; no dress code required. Lounge around in our soft, cozy robes and Pineapple slippers. The slippers are yours for the keeping!

What Guests Are Saying

“Wonderful, comfy, warm, delightful.” – Joni S.

“Loved the bed and the covers. Nice to know they are cleaned every time. (That's a big deal for us.) Also loved the robes and slippers. Nice touch!” – Benjamin C.

"At first I was unsure and we couldn't figure [it] out. But we ended up having the best night's sleep and loved the personal duvets. In fact, when we got in our own bed last night, we were missing them!” – Allison S.

"We LOVE the bed set up and it reminded us of all our excellent sleeps in Europe with that type of bedding. We also loved the robes.” – Julie M.

“Towels were large and thick and fluffy. Great!” – Laura J.

"I loved the new bedding setup. When we first walked in and saw it, I thought it was ridiculous, but boy was I wrong! It was wonderful and I've even given some serious thought to changing ours at home, it was that good.” – Debra B.

So there you have it! Try The Naked Experience now at The Maxwell Hotel, Hotel FIVE, Hotel Rose or The Hotel California. Coming to University Inn and Watertown Hotel in March 2015.

What's that? You loved The Naked Experience and are ready to makeover your own digs? It's all available in our new online shop

Meet Fluffy!

World, we’d like to introduce you to the newest member of Team Pineapple:

Name: Fluffy the Pineapple Pup
Age: Adorable puppy
Breed: Husky
Likes: Travel, hugs, humans, cupcakes, staring at birds

An ambassador for all #PineapplePups, Fluffy’s mission is to be a friend to those who stay with us - child, adult or canine. On top of that, he’s out to help pets in need. Anytime someone “adopts” Fluffy from our front desks or website, a portion of his adoption fee will be given to an animal shelter in one of our cities.

Why a husky, you ask? You may recognize these fluffballs from our marketing photos:

They’re our fearless leader Michelle’s furry family, and they’ve been our unofficial doggie mascots since day one. It only seemed right to immortalize them as official representatives of the Pineapple!

Like our guests, Fluffy is an avid traveler. So we're dubbing each Friday #FluffyFriday and will be sharing some of his adventures about town and around the world on our social media channels. Follow us and Fluffy on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Google+
